Seeing as this is the first page in the magazine i wanted to make sure i have got most of the artists featured on this page that are featured within the magazine. Therefore i followed the codes of conventions with image layout to make it look like a professional contents page.

i tried a different layout, however this layout doesn't really follow the codes of conventions. I haven't left much space for the actual contents. I also added the same title that's on the front cover to keep the same theme going. I also have kept the colour scheme going, so the magazine has the same look through out the magazine. If i used lots of different colours the magazine would not have its own identity and it would make it less recognisable.

After i decided on the image composition i started adding, the content. I put a little background behind the text as i wanted it to stand out really well. However i think it completely took the style away form the page. It makes it look really boxy, and quite amature.

However i then couldn't work out what didn't look right on the page. I decided to make the background picture bigger. Seeing as the majority of the photo is black and white i think it looks good, with the vibrant colour of her face in the middle. i like this change however i still do not like the boxes under the writ ting.

I then got rid of the boxes, and changed the colour of the writing so it showed up more. I prefer this much more to the boxes. it doesn't look as childish and square.
